Not for profit. To inspire a more sustainable, healthy way of living.
Business objectives
- To provide nourishing food, and health products, grown or produced in NZ, locally and onsite.
- To encourage people to grow their own produce and become a part of a wider community.
- To share knowledge and recipes, seeds and seedlings and gardening knowhow to inspire people.
The gardens are where we have started as it takes time to learn and establish an abundant sustainable section.
We have a very challenging environment here in Orepuki on the South West coast of NZ but with the help of big wind breaks and recycled window Glasshouses things are coming along nicely.
Our online Seed Library is now open! Providing a platform for everyone in NZ to share and access plenty of seeds to get their gardens started. Attached to the Seed Library is our Facebook group, NZ Seed Savers, Trade and Share where you can learn about Saving our Seeds for the future.
Work on the shop is about to get started! :)
We will also be installing a commercial kitchen! This is for a few great reasons..
-To make healthy snacks and foods for the store
-For the community to use to create products that are safe to sell and trade
-Teaching people how to be creative with the produce that’s in season
The Good Taste Shop will also be set up as a Trading Post so the community are able to share and trade their extra produce and become more connected with their food and where it has been produced.
We will of course be using sustainable packaging and strongly encouraging new innovative idea’s towards maintaining an eco friendly world.
The Good Taste Gardens are Spray Free and focused on using Organic Sustainable practices.
